Privacy Policy

Film Crew Directory (“the app”) is a professional directory for film crew and production companies. This policy explains what personal data the app processes and your rights.

Who is responsible

What we collect

Account: your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
Your profile (optional): name, role, city, country, portfolio links, a short bio, a public email, and a phone number only if you tick the consent box.
Activity: the likes you give, your private statuses and notes (visible only to you), claims (“This is me”), reports, blocks, and your acceptance of the Terms.
Notifications (iOS app, optional): a device token, only if you allow notifications.

We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics tools, and we do not sell data.

Public listings added by us

To start the directory we added production companies and a limited number of professionals from public sources: company websites, film commissions, professional guilds and agencies. We only use business contact details published there (for example a company’s general email or website) and a link to the source. We never add private phone numbers. Our legal basis is legitimate interest in helping professionals find each other (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). If this is about you, tap “This is me” to take over the entry, or “Remove” to have it deleted, or write to us.

Entries added by members

Members can add other professionals and companies using only public information: name, profession, city, public links and a work email the person publishes themselves. Members cannot add someone else’s phone number. The member who added an entry can edit it until the person takes it over. If an entry is about you, tap “This is me” or “Remove”, or write to us.

Why and on what basis

To run your account and show the directory: performance of the service (Art. 6(1)(b)).
To show your phone number: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by unticking it.
To keep the community safe (reports, blocks, content filtering): legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Who can see your data

Only signed-in users of the app see the directory and profiles. Your notes, statuses, blocks and reports are visible only to you (and reports to the administrator). Service providers that process data for us: Supabase (database and sign-in, hosted in the EU, Frankfurt) and Cloudflare (website hosting). Apple delivers push notifications if you enable them.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your login, profile, likes, notes, claims, blocks and device tokens are deleted immediately. Removal requests are handled within 30 days.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export and delete your data, object to processing and withdraw consent. Edit your profile in the app, delete your account in Account → Delete my account, or write to us. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Hungary: NAIH, naih.hu).

Children

The app is for professionals aged 18 and over.

Changes

We will update this page and the date above if anything changes.
